I am still super flattered that I am a part of Light Grey Art Lab’s Micro & Macro. The show was an apparent success and you can check out their blog post about the show, flickr and gallery!
There are so many wonderful pieces in the gallery and if you want to purchase a print of my piece, go here~
Thanks for sticking around! Summer is almost here and I am ready to throw myself into personal art. :)

JUNIOR COMD SURVEY 2013

At the end of every semester, the Communications Design department at Pratt requires us to present our work and this is my wall!

So here is the bulk of my work for this semester: an illustration series (plus the accordion book presentation of the pieces), sketchbook stuff, op-ed editorials and a 48 page children’s book of Thumbelina (which I will post more about later ~ v~).

This semester was challenging but immensely rewarding, and I am super excited for this summer and my senior year!

Mycelium by Jess Schultz
Hey guys! So this Friday is the opening reception of Light Grey Art Lab’s show, “Macro and Micro: A Celebration of the Natural World”. Aaaand, I totally have a piece in it!
We were all separated into 4 categories: Animal, Vegetable, Mineral, and Everything Else. I’m in Vegetable and my piece is on mushrooms! (Technically mushrooms aren’t veggies, but shhh~) Mushrooms and other decomposers play an important role in the cycle of nutrients in our environment by breaking down organisms and keeping the soil fertile so other plants can grow. They are also delicious. Just sayin’.
In the past, Gnomes were commonly associated with mushrooms, so I added Ms. Gnome in to give a sense of scale and to make the illustration more interesting.
If any of you guys are interested, my print is on sale over in Light Grey Art Lab’s Gallery Shop, here: http://lightgreyartlabshop.bigcartel.com/product/mycelium-by-jessica-schultz
Haha, I’m still kinda freaking out that I got to be in this show with so many talented artists!

The piece my friend did for the LGAL show!
Check out some of her other stuff!

My goodness! Big hello to all you peeps that are new to my blog~ Welcome! Welcome!

And thanks for liking my plant piece and ughh thank you so so much!

I really appreciate all of you for taking the time to enjoy my art because sometimes things get rough and I start to doubt, hesitate and freak out. And sometimes people may not like my stuff, BUT then there you are! People who like my stuff! So from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you guys who have watched my art grow alongside me and to the newcomers, I won’t disappoint! ^ O^ Or at least I’ll do my best, for myself and stuff haha
