Hello! How did you decide to pursue illustration?&have you ever doubted your decision? If so, how did you overcome it
When I was in high school, I had good grades and such, but I did not want to go into any academic field. So when it came down to it, I thought I was good enough for art and I decided to see where that would take me. It was scary and I knew almost nothing about the art world–I just knew that I had the passion for it. I have never doubted that I could become an illustrator, but I have been through rough patches because it is a tough journey. (also I am not a full-fledged freelancer yet so we’ll see!) Just keep on drawing and your skill and hard work will take you places!
I am alive, but barely because of all the moving to a my first apartment (YAY) and Pratt show (photos to come!) and graduation things (that happens tomorrow ermergerd) and everything that is adulthood.
are there any goals u strive to achieve this year? artistic goals?
Finding a (hopefully creative art-related) job that pays my rent/bills, send out mailers to get some freelance jobs, getting into gallery shows and starting some of my own video, book, product, and series projects!
I also want to make some big paintings. YEAH!
ALSO I got my first apartment and I am officially grounded in Brooklyn!
